Minister condemns harassment, killing of Nigerians in S/Africa

Minister of Interior, Mr. Abba Moro, has condemned the illegal arrest and harassment of Nigerians in South Africa. He also called for the granting of visas to Nigerian diplomats and officials to boost free movement.
He made this known when the South African High Commissioner paid him a courtesy call in his office in Abuja, yesterday.
Moro said: “Nigerians have watched the programme in South Africa with keen interest. It is an understatement to say that Nigeria and South Africa have advanced to a stage but we still have some teething problems such as arrest, harassment and even killing of Nigerians.
“We must at all times reciprocate relationship between the two countries. South Africa must extend the same hand of friendship.
“In our country, we have removed some restriction in procurement of visas.
“I want to enjoin the people of South Africa to provide equal treatment to Nigerians so that some of those teething problems will be resolved.”
